MS/SS CHAPEL CAMP | Students from Years 8-12 who expressed a desire to know Jesus more and make Him known at school attended our first-ever Chapel Camp from 12 - 14 July.

After a sunset picnic on Friday, Mr Geoff van der Vliet shared some encouragement; we engaged in ice-breaker activities and a big 'night game' that the leaders invented. We were amazed at how quickly students bonded, made each other laugh, worked together, and enjoyed each other's different personalities. Afterwards, we journaled around a bonfire, then, passing a bible around, we read Colossians 3, discussed it, and took communion together, followed by worship and students praying for each other.

The Red Frogs team made us a fantastic breakfast on Saturday morning, then formed a panel and allowed us to ask questions 撸大师app life and God. Their lives challenged our perceived ideas of 'normal Christianity', reminding us that a faithful follower of Jesus walks just as He walked (1 John 2:6). It challenged self-focus, complacency and comfortability and encouraged students to live honest lives and walk in greater freedom.

After lunch, our Gents Connect leaders ran a big 'Wild West' game involving water balloons, hostages, and strategy. It was hilarious. The absolute highlight of the camp was when believing men came to lead open and spontaneous worship on Saturday night. We worshipped and thanked God for all He is and has done for us; we had a great night glorifying God and praying so intentionally in small and large groups. It was moving to see a young generation full of love for each other and deep reverence to please God.

On Sunday morning, we had breakfast and reflection time facilitated by our School Captains. Daisy and Will asked some excellent questions:
"What was the highlight of the weekend?"
"What did God do in you?"
"Are there any ideas in your heart regarding chapel space and glorifying God in NCC?"
"How can we practically work as a team to make these things a reality?".
The students' answers were rich and encouraging. We are excited to see how students continue to grow in genuine love for all people and God's word. We hope this weekend's fruits will bless everyone in the NCC community.

SS FIJI SERVICE TRIP - THE LORD'S GOODNESS | When we arrived in Tavua, our Fijian family welcomed us 'home' and lavished us with love in word, deed, and resource. We played with gorgeous children, got smashed in sports, attended a rugby game, and taught the gospel of Jesus Christ's love through dramas, skits, songs, and teachings in numerous schools and the church.

We were immersed in the simplicity of the rich relational culture and significantly impacted by the shameless love of our family here. After our fourth and final night in Tavua, they honoured us with a farewell ceremony, reminding us that God loves us before we do anything for Him and that every human is precious and worthy of time, celebration, and honour.

The National Fiji Rugby teams stayed at our hotel in Nadi. We were encouraged to hear them worship, pray, and read God's word every morning and night. What a privilege it was when they asked us to join them for a worship and prayer session. Inspired and spurred on by their kindness, joy, and reverence of God, we all said we would barrack for their team over our own.

The next day, we travelled for hours through lush, mountainous terrain to a remote village called Draiba, where we shared the gospel with schools and church communities. We enjoyed adventurous activities like swimming in rivers and travelling in the back of a tightly packed truck. We learnt how the villagers catch fish and bite their heads off before lopping them to the 'fish lady' carrying a basket to make lunch. All but one of our students engaged in the fish-biting challenge. It was a sight to behold the testosterone surge among our young men.

The village men taught us how they plant vegetables sold at the markets. Our team joined in to make a traditional Lovo feast! What an experience to learn how Fijian people cook in the ground using nature as their resource.

Robinson Crusoe Island was our final destination. It was a rich and packed time full of laughter and tears, sharing lessons learnt, reading the Bible and praying into 'what now?' We had the honour of baptising six of our students. This team was one of the most genuine and united teams we have experienced.

DONUTS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE FUNDRAISER | Our Hospitality students deserve a round of applause for their hard work and dedication in our Donuts-that-make-a-difference Fundraiser on Friday 31 May. Starting at 6.00am, they worked tirelessly to create more than 2000 donuts to sell in support of the Fundraiser for St. Christopher's Home in Fiji. Their efforts resulted in over 1000 donuts pre-ordered for collection and an additional 1000 made to sell to senior school students and staff during break times.

A huge thank you to staff, students and parents for your incredible support. We extend special thanks to the hospitality department鈥攕taff and students鈥攆or their immense efforts in making this event a success. We managed to raise $2600, and these funds went a long way in supporting the essential needs of the children at St. Christopher's Home during our Middle School Service Trip in the school holidays.
